When a person exercises, there are two major benefits that arise. The first benefit is that the person burns calories which will reduce the overall net amount of calories ingested. The second benefit is that the person will create small tears in his or her muscles. This is what causes someone to feel sore after a good workout. Given that the person is providing his or her body with enough protein, the body will react to the strenuous workout by building more muscle to be able to withstand the workout in the future.
